Busy days and more travelling to Germany. Several errands on this trip, one of the errands is a visit to Wengen where the head office of DB Schenker is located. They had heard of us and after presenting ourselves over a Skype call we were invited there. Exciting times! :=)
Big welcome to Max Book! He is our Master of Science in Engineering student focusing on Industrial Design Engineering at Mid Sweden University. He will help us examine how CargoBeacon product assembly can be optimized with the help of collaborative robotic technology for some weeks to come. The thesis is made together with Robotdalen, Västerås, that also provide guidance and resources around the Robotics which in this case is ABB YuMi.
In contrast with other robots, a collaborative robot is a robot that is intended to physically interact with humans in a shared workspace. This means they are much easier to deploy for various, repetitive tasks that can be found within a company. For us it is important that product assembly is made as efficient as possible already from the beginning. Through efficient assembly we enable a local production. Local operations simplify product changes and improvements which will be of greatest importance for CargoBeacon both as a company and for the product.
We look forward to the weeks to come and to see YuMi in action with the help from Max and Robotdalen!
Finally home again after a one week Boot Camp event organized by Tillväxtverket. Big thanks goes to Marcus and Arash! Week was filled with great activities from morning to late evening, ranging from financing, legal and technology. The main tech highlight was insight of Narrow Band IoT (NB-IoT) that is about to roll out during 2017. We believe this technology will be an important game-changer for many companies. Perfect for disruptive startups!
Stay tuned and watch out - Cargo-Beacon will definitively include a strategy for NB-IoT!
Our new website online! Finally, our new web-page is on-line. With this we want to better communicate with you and our other customers and put focus on our product offer. Hope you like it too. Enjoy!
CargoBeacon was accepted to Tillväxtverket IoT Boot Camp 4. In competition with IoT startups from all over Sweden CargoBeacon was selected as one of the companies to participate. The Boot Camp is a one week programme in the city centre of Stockholm. We look forward to working on our value proposition, pitching, networking and attending interesting lectures from experienced professionals from the industry. Hope to see you there!
Congratulations to StableSure AB! Our friends at StableSure successfully closed their first big investment by the Chineese Atoso. Despite a hectic time schedule companies surrounding StableSure, like us, were able to present themselves four our Chineese guests. After traditional hand-shakes and signatures StableSure presented themselves together with ABB and their new robot YuMi. A collaborative robot we will see a lot in the coming years as it offers a great way to maintain high volume production of electronics even in high-cost countries such as Sweden. Check out the great products from StableSure here and good luck guys!
H2020 funding! Yes – our application for phase 1, or pre-study, funding was approved. In tough competition with SMEs from all over Europe our application “Cargo Beacons – no unexpected delays or losses in shipments of valuable cargo” was awarded funding. Big thanks to Zaz Ventures for their invaluable help. Zaz, yey! Check it out
