Thesis started - product assembly with ABB YuMi

Big welcome to Max Book! He is our Master of Science in Engineering student focusing on Industrial Design Engineering at Mid Sweden University. He will help us examine how CargoBeacon product assembly can be optimized with the help of collaborative robotic technology for some weeks to come. The thesis is made together with Robotdalen, Västerås, that also provide guidance and resources around the Robotics which in this case is ABB YuMi.

In contrast with other robots, a collaborative robot is a robot that is intended to physically interact with humans in a shared workspace. This means they are much easier to deploy for various, repetitive tasks that can be found within a company. For us it is important that product assembly is made as efficient as possible already from the beginning. Through efficient assembly we enable a local production. Local operations simplify product changes and improvements which will be of greatest importance for CargoBeacon both as a company and for the product.

We look forward to the weeks to come and to see YuMi in action with the help from Max and Robotdalen!
